Information about Whalley Abbey

Whalley Abbey Conference House lies besides the ruins of the 14th century Cistercian Abbey set on the banks of the River Calder in Whalley.   It's an ideal place for a picnic on a summers day; there's a visitor center, gift shop and tea rooms.  Guided tours of the house can be arranged, if booked in advance and retreats, conferences, weddings, dinners and afternoon teas can be catered for.

The adjacent medieval church has 3 Celtic Scandinavian crosses in its churchyard dating back to the 9th and 11th centuries.

The grounds are open from 1100 until 1700 every day.  There is an admission charge.
